Pet Portraits – Tips and Techniques
October 21 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
One event on October 28, 2019 at 9:00am
In this two session mini workshop Kay Sullivan will share what she has learned from doing pet portraits for the last seventeen years, including the photo shoot, choosing the right reference photo, capturing the eyes and fur with your paint, and presenting the finished product. She will demonstrate techniques in watercolor and have the students do exercises in their preferred medium. All levels are welcome, but beginner students must have some experience and their own high quality paints, paper, and brushes. Students should bring their pet photos for discussion and be prepared to do a homework assignment between the two sessions.
After many classes and years of experience, Kay is able to enjoy painting without the anxiousness of execution. She loves to paint watercolor pet portraits as well as architecture, landscapes, and experimental work. Kay is a juried member of SAWG and a member of Saddle Brooke Fine Art Guild.
