Kat Manton-Jones

I am a signature member of the Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild and an Associate member of the National Watercolor Society.

This body of work displays examples of watercolor; watercolor and ink; and watercolor and collage. The Grand Canyon is a theme that I return to every year. I also like to experiment with collaged images both as a study for a painting and the final product. Although I use ink to outline some of the images in my paintings, I enjoy drawing loosely and painting wet into wet.

I have been painting for 18 years. Although I’ve gained valuable knowledge through workshops, classes, books, and videos, undeniable growth begins as I challenge my creative boundaries and investigate different styles, techniques, and materials. Experimentation is fun because it keeps painting as a discipline fresh and exciting. My subject matter and methods continually evolve and my skills progress as I question myself with “What next?”
